We currently have over 100 employees across various job categories: Sales Specialists, Service Engineers, Service Technicians, Administrators, Storespersons and Supervisory, Management, Product Management, Marketing positions.

The following are examples of the more common job profiles:-

SALES SPECIALISTS

Within each of the Company’s business divisions our sales specialists are responsible for:

  • The direct promotion and sales of defined products
  • Implementing sales programmes and achieving set targets
  • Generating sales leads
  • Demonstrating products
  • Representing the Company at exhibitions

Successful job holders have a science degree or equivalent and are dynamic, personable and self motivated. In addition an important prerequisite is the desire to work hard and succeed in a competitive market. Previous experience within a scientific research, medical or industrial environment is an advantage.

INSTRUMENT SERVICE ENGINEERS

Instrument engineers are responsible for:

  • Supporting customers with repairs, contracts and technical information.
  • Installing / setting up equipment and training the user to a level sufficient to allow competent use

Ideally with a qualification in electronics or a science discipline service engineers must have good organisational, diagnostic and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

FIELD AND SERVICE CENTRE BASED PIPETTE TECHNICIANS

Are involved in:

  • Servicing & calibrating laboratory instruments to manufacturers specifications following UKAS and ISO Accredited set procedures

Individual Requirements:

  • Confident, organised and personable with good communication skills.
  • Capable of dealing with customers in a professional manner.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Able to work unsupervised.

Experience in a laboratory or scientific environment is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.

ADMINISTRATORS

We have a selection of administrative positions within our offices in Luton; Order Processing, Sales Support, Accounts, Information Technology and Business Development.

Administrators provide a full range of administrative and clerical support including:

  • Daily, weekly and monthly administration routines
  • Processing customer enquiries and orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all information is accurate
  • Resolving customer queries
  • Processing payments, invoices and credit notes
  • Carrying out general office duties

Essential criteria for these posts are excellent communication and telephone skills, good computer literacy and the ability to work on own initiative. Previous relevant experience is desirable although not essential.

STORESPERSONS

The Storespersons’ main role is to ensure that stock and components are despatched to customers. Duties include:

  • Accurate preparation of customer orders to meet deadlines
  • Safe packaging and correct identification of orders
  • Safe unloading and storing of deliveries in nominated areas
  • Correct identification and labelling of all incoming goods
  • Completing all relevant delivery and despatch documentation
  • Participation in regular stocktakes
  • Operation of Fork Lift Trucks (if suitably trained and certificated)

Basic literacy and numeracy skills are essential. Preference will be given to those with a current, valid fork lift driving certificate. Although previous experience in a wholesale or warehousing environment would be desirable, full training will be given on work procedures, use of relevant machinery and health & safety.
