Throughout Anachem’s 40 year history there have been very strong links with both Rainin and Gilson. Ken Rainin and Eric Marteau D’autry of Gilson France were founder members of the Company. In 1972 Anachem launched the Gilson PIPETMAN®, the world’s first adjustable pipette, into the UK market. Working closely with Rainin, Anachem was one of the first companies to introduce electronic pipettes to help speed up laboratory workflows and bring new pipetting features. Together with Rainin's unique LTS system these also reduce pipetting forces to prevent repetitive strain injuries and safeguard scientists' health.
Anachem has developed its pipette service business dramatically over the years, raising awareness of the importance of regular maintenance and calibration of pipettes to assure their performance. In 1986, Anachem held the first on-site pipette service clinic at SmithKline French or GSK as it is now known .
In 1998 the Anachem Pipette Service Centre achieved UKAS accreditation and has maintained this accolade ever since.
