Throughout Anachem’s history there have been very strong links with Gilson right from the early days when Eric Marteau D’autry of Gilson France was one of the founder members of the Company. In 1972 Anachem launched The Gilson PIPETMAN, the world’s first adjustable pipette, into the UK market. It revolutionised life science research and is still the world’s best selling pipette.
Anachem and it’s suppliers have always been renowned for products and services that address scientists needs and contribute to research advances. These include the first computer controlled HPLC system introduced by Gilson in 1979. Anachem has taken this further by working closely with the industry to develop solutions such as the Reactarray process screening and optimisation system for synthetic chemists.
Equipment maintenance and servicing has been an integral part of Anachem’s business since its beginnings, ensuring scientists of reliable instruments and minimal downtime. Anachem has developed its pipette service business dramatically over the years, raising awareness of the importance of regular maintenance and calibration of pipettes to assure their performance. In 1986, Anachem held the first on-site pipette service clinic at SmithKline French or GSK as it is better known today. Anachem’s instrumentation service, S3 (Scientific Service Support) assists numerous suppliers in Europe, resolving customer after-sales needs, upholding nationally recognised quality standards and assuring lifetime product support. Today, Anachem provides an extensive array of laboratory instrumentation and consumables to scientists across all disciplines within academic, pharmaceutical, industrial, environmental and clinical areas.
